Captiva Island 2008

This summer again found us at our spot of paradise and enjoying "Island Life!" We had a wonderful time in Captiva enjoying the sun, water, fishing, eating and just being lazy!

A Trip To The Lone Star State

Mom, Aunt Joy, Laura, Marlana and I left early February 7th for our trip to Texas. We were headed to the Lone Star state to visit with relatives we hadn't seen in .... well, years. My last trip to Texas was when I was 15! We had a great time "catching up", meeting new relatives, eating and eating again and again and again! We had a great time!

REVOLVE TOUR 2008

Olivia and I had the opportunity to attend the Revolve Tour 2008 at the Amway Arena February 1st and 2nd. This was an event for teen girls sponsored by Women of Faith. We had a great time with 5 others from our church. We heard Great bands and speakers who discussed the "truth about guys", keeping it real inside and out, relationships and true beauty. It was a great conference and we look forward to attending again next year.

Winter Jam 2008

Some of the youth from FBCL attended Winter Jam 2008. Olivia and I attended as well. We enjoyed music from some of the best Christian artists. Mandisa, Skillet, NewSong, Barlow Girl and Mercy Me. We had a great time!

Happy New Year - 2008!

New Year's Eve was spent at the Nash's for their annual party. This year was spent, as those in the past, eating great food, playing games, watching the kids go in and out, and enjoying time together. Thanks Jackie and Ray for a great evening. We wish everyone a great 2008!

National Gingerbread Contest

These are the winners of the National Gingerbread competition held in Ashville, NC. I think if Nana, Olivia and I perfect our skills we too could enter the contest! The lady that won (house above) is from Winter Springs!

Youth Christmas Party

The youth at FBCL enjoyed a progressive dinner for their Christmas Party. Salad/soups were enjoyed at the Couvillion's, entree at the Rawlins' and desserts at the Nash's. The kids did a "white elephant" at the Nash's. Nathan came away with a beautiful pair of black pumps! Here are a few pictures from the evening.

The Gingerbread House

Liv and Nana got together Sunday to make their annual Gingerbread House. I think they put together a beautiful house! We even enjoyed pizza and a sampling of Grandad's fudge!

Walk Through Bethlehem

For 12 years now Walk Through Bethlehem has been a part of our Christmas season. WTB 2006 finished last Sunday with over 5,000 people walking through the city. Michael and I were guides again, Nathan worked the fish booth and Olivia worked in the basket and fruit booth and participated in the children's choir. Walk Through Bethlehem holds a very special place in our hearts!

And in that region there were shepherds out in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with fear. And the angel said to them, "Be not afraid; for behold, I bring you good news of a great joy which will come to all the people; for to you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find a babe wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger." Matthew 2:8-12

Giving - A Part of the Christmas Season!

Girl Scout Troop 796 took a trip to the Ronald McDonald House in Orlando and shared gift bags they had prepared to help with needed supplies for the guests that stay their while they have loved ones in the hospital. The girls shared their voices as well as they sang Christmas carols for the guests. Afterwards they enjoyed pizza and a gift exchange. (thanks Amy for the picture!)

License to Drive!

Turning 15 has its benefits. One of those - being able to drive with parental supervision. What the benefit is to the parent riding "shotgun" I haven't quite figured out! Just kidding! Nate is doing a great job. Way to go buddy!
