The Last Days of Summer

Summer is quickly coming to a close. Just a few shots as we end "summer '06."

Shoes On A Wire Update

Shoes On A Wire had their first "gig" last night! They played at a birthday party for a friend. The boys in the band said it went good. Reviews from party goers - "they did great!"

Last night ended the summer workout schedule for the Lake Mary Rams Freshman football team. But they only have 3 days off before they begin their school workout schedule. Everyday after school! Brendan and Nathan had a great time and are looking forward to their season.

3 Days and Counting

Another orientation today! We headed to Millennium Middle School for Olivia's 6th grade orientation. She got her schedule and was pleased that she got all of the electives that she signed up for. This first semester she will take Civics, Drama and Art 2D along with Geography, Language Arts, Advanced Math and Comprehensive Science. Next semester she will take Spanish 1, Speech and Debate and Intro to Computers. We walked through her schedule, met all of her teachers and she feels pretty confident that she can get where she needs to go the first day of school. I think she will do great!

5 Days and Counting

5 more days to the start of school! Today was Freshman Orientation for Nathan. Hard to believe that he will be starting high school. We headed to the high school for the 9:45 orientation. We began in the auditorium then took a tour of the the school with one of the teachers and 4 senior peer group members who gave their own insight to high school life! Nathan had his yearbook picture taken, received his books, found his locker and then we walked through his schedule from 1st period to 6th period. He is hoping that he doesn't get lost! Six minutes between classes isn't very long. If he can keep from socializing he might make it! Good luck to you Nathan and to the rest of the Class of 2010!

Shoes On A Wire

Ok, the shoes aren't ours and no, Nathan did not throw them up there! He did have something to do with it though. It is the name of his new band! He, along with 3 other teens are part of Shoes On A Wire! They are working hard on writing and practicing their songs!

Service with a Mission...and a smile!

Nate's summer camp experience took him to Nashville. M-Fuge is a summer mission camp for those who want to participate in hands-on missions and faith-sharing opportunities. Nathan and his group went into the inner-cities and participated in sports activities at different youth centers. They had a chance to share their Godstory with other children and youth.

Summer is just not the same without time at summer camp! For the second year Olivia attended Centri-kid. The camp was held at the campus of Florida Tech University in Melbourne, Fl. She, along with other students enjoyed the activities, Bible study, worship time and recreation that Centri-kid had to offer.
